How To Remove The Sim Card From Iphone 3g

Back up and restore
Backup
- From the Home screen, tap Settings.
- Tap iCloud. iCloud requires a Wi-Fi data connection.
- If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID.
- Tap Contacts to switch the slider ON.
- If prompted, select to Merge contacts with iCloud.
- Tap Storage & Backup.
- Tap iCloud Backup to switch the slider ON.
- Tap iCloud.
- Tap Photo Stream.
- Tap My Photo Stream to turn the slide ON.
Restore
To restore your content, you must reload your device software and restore your iCloud backup.
Reset your device
A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloads, ringtones, images, apps, contacts, and Visual Voicemail. It doesn't delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.
Master reset with settings menu
- Back up all data on the internal memory.
- From the Home screen, tap Settings.
- Tap General.
- Tap Reset.
- Tap desired option:
- Reset All Settings
- Erase All Content and Settings Use this option for master reset.
- Reset Network Settings This will delete any saved Wi-Fi profiles.
- Reset Keyboard Dictionary
- Reset Home Screen Layout
- Reset Location Warnings
- Confirm selection..
Memory and SIM cards
SIM card
This device supports a mini SIM card.
- Insert the end of a small thin paper clip into the hole on the SIM tray.
- Press firmly and push the paper clip straight in until the tray pops out.
- Insert or remove the SIM card from the tray
Network settings
Change band
- From any Home screen, tap Settings > General > Cellular.
- Drag the Enable 3G slider to OFF.
Manual network selection
- From the Home screen, tap Settings > Carrier.
If the Carrier option does not appear with a T-Mobile SIM card in the device, it may indicate the device was not correctly unlocked or jailbroken. - Slide the Automatic slider to the Off position to start scanning for networks.
- Select desired carrier.
- Tap Settings.
- Press the Home button.
Turn on/off data roaming
- From any Home screen, tap Settings > General > Cellular.
- Drag the Data Roaming slider to OFF.
Turn on/off mobile data
- From any Home screen, tap Settings > General > Cellular.
- Drag the Cellular Data slider to ON or OFF.
Turn on and connect to Wi-Fi
- From the Home screen, tap Settings.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- Tap the Wi-Fi slider to ON.
- Scroll to and tap the network you want to connect to.
- Enter the password, if necessary.
- Tap Join.
APN settings
- From the main menu, tap Settings > General > Cellular.
- Verify the following settings:
- Data Roaming: On
- Wi-Fi: Off
- 3G Enable: On (Changing the 3G Enable function while the device is on an active call may cause the call to disconnect.)
- Tap Cellular Data Network.
- Configure as follows:
- APN: fast.t-mobile.com
- Username: <Leave Blank>
- Password: <Leave Blank>
- Enter the following information under the MMS section:
- APN: fast.t-mobile.com
- Username: <Leave Blank>
- Password: <Leave Blank>
- MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
- MMS Proxy: <Leave Blank>
- MMS Max Message Size: 1048576
- MMS UA Prof URL: http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf
- Enter the following information under the Internet Tethering section:
- APN: pcweb.tmobile.com
- Username: <Leave Blank>
- Password: <Leave Blank>
- Press the Home button to save the APN and exit to the main screen.
- Turn the device off and back on.
